JG Summit Holdings, Inc. (JGS), which is controlled by the Gokongwei family, was incorporated in November 1990 as the holding company for a group of companies with substantial business interests in foods; agro-industrial and commodities; real estate and hotel; air transportation; and petrochemicals. The Company also has core investments in telecommunications and power generation and distribution. JGS was listed on the Philippine Stock Exchange in 1993.
The Company and its subsidiaries conduct busines throughout the Philippines, primarily in and around Metro Manila and in the regions of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. JGS also has branded consumer food businesses in the ASEAN region and a core investment in a property development company in Singapore.
JGS' subsidiaries include JG Summit Olefins Corporation; CP Air Holdings Inc.; Universal Robina Corporation; and Robinsons Land Corporation. The Company also holds 11.2% interest in PLDT Inc. and 26.4% interest in Manila Electric Company.
